July 10-14, 2017
Dance and visual art join forces in this unique collaboration between two of South Bend’s cultural gems: Southold Dance Theater and the South Bend Museum of Art. Campers will investigate the connections between movement and art-making while learning the fundamentals of dance and action-art. We will investigate the fun ways of moving while making art with everyday objects like pool noodles, panty-hose, and toy cars. This camp takes place at Southold Dance Theater each day except Thursday, when camp will be held at the South Bend Museum of Art!
Attire: Comfortable dance clothes
Note: Dancers should bring their own snack and water bottle each day.

This camp gives young dancers an enchanting summer experience learning about classical ballet and famous fairytale ballets, including Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake. Each day children take a pre-ballet class: after a short break, they will explore a classical ballet through the characters, storyline, music and mime. Imagination and creativity are encouraged! Camp concludes with a mini-performance of age-appropriate ballet excerpts for friends and family. Dance attire is required.
