Beth Finley

 

Beth oversees Southold’s development, marketing, financials, marketing, events, and growth. As Director of Operations, she also works to build bridges in the South Bend community through outreach dance programs. Beth has a degree in Dance from Butler University and a Masters Degree with a concentration in Arts Management also from Butler.  She has previously worked at the Pennsylvania Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Company and at the Kennedy Center. Amy Retartha, Production Coordinator
Amy Retartha
Amy works directly with the Artistic Director (AD) for all elements related to production. She also manages the costume shop and is the Children’s Coordinator for all Southold performances. A South Bend native, Amy Retartha (Jonas), studied ballet at Southold Dance Theater where she had the honor of performing as Clara in the Nutcracker. Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Drama from Indiana University.  She continued her studies by completing two graduate internships in stage carpentry and scenery at the Yale School of Drama. She has worked for many professional theater organizations throughout the country including Actor’s Theater of Louisville, Spoleto Festival USA, Triad Stage, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and Blue Man Group Chicago.  Amy credits her love of the dance, performance, and the arts to her mentor, Jill Tulchinsky, without whom she would never have found her true passion. She has been a proud member of the Actor’s Equity Association since 2011.
Hannah Fischer, Office Manager
Hannah Fischer
As Office Manager, Hannah oversees the daily and long-term schedules at Southold. She is responsible for all registration, billing, and communication from the Southold office. Reporting to the Director of Operations, she works closely with Beth Finley on events, marketing, and reporting for the Board of Directors. She holds a BA in Dance, Video, and Women’s Studies from Saint Mary’s College, Indiana, as well as a Humanistic Studies Major. Before returning to South Bend, Hannah spent time in St. Louis, MO as the assistant director for Leverage Dance Theater. In this role, she performed with Leverage, working with in-house choreographers as well as Guest Artists Mathew Janczewski, Jon Lehrer, Kim Epifano, Nejla Yatkin and Victoria Marks. She has also studied under Bridgman/Packer Dance, Adriana Durant, Donna Uchizono, Juliette Mapp, Jeremy Nelson, Barbara Mahler, Jane Comfort, and Susan Marshall. In 2013, Fischer was an Associate Artist in Residence at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, and spent two years on faculty with the Now and Next Dance Mentoring Project. In 2014, Hannah returned to South Bend and launched Fischer Dance, a modern dance company in South Bend, IN.
